Dr. Chris Saylor, a highly accomplished practitioner and scholar, has dedicated his career to unraveling the intricate connections between theoretical constructs and real-world business challenges. With a keen eye for transforming observations and data into actionable intelligence, he has a knack for synthesizing interconnections, facilitating change, enhancing workplace dynamics, and cultivating thriving organizational cultures. Boasting over two decades of diverse industry experience, Dr. Saylor has shaped the trajectory of key functions at some of the nation’s most successful companies. He currently heads North American operations for the distribution arm of one of the world’s largest business services organizations, where his responsibilities encompass seven regions and 49 fulfillment centers across the U.S. and Canada. Chris and his team have pioneered transformative initiatives, boosting operational performance and delivering unprecedented results.
Beyond his leadership in the corporate sphere, Dr. Saylor’s passion for business knowledge and mentorship manifests in his roles as a professor, researcher, and author. He teaches advanced-level labor relations, motivation, conflict resolution, and negotiation courses in Penn State’s Organizational Leadership (OLEAD) degree program, focusing on the multifaceted social, cultural, and organizational issues confronting contemporary leaders. His courses foster real-life critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and team-building skills.
Dr. Saylor's research portfolio includes works on leadership, motivation, employee turnover and retention, and other people-related business topics, and he frequently contributes thought leadership pieces on these subjects. His current academic interests include behavioral and relational leadership theories and the intricacies facing leaders in our rapidly evolving world.
